AppleWorks and WP

I have a confession to make. I have been using AppleWorks (aka ClarisWorks) for years. I was given a demo copy of ClarisWorks 2.0 when I was working for a computer company. At the time I was using the Powerbook 100 and needed something that would actually run and not sping up the hard drive all the time like Microsoft Word.

Now, I am on a MacBook and want a universal binary program for Word Processing. I do not like Pages becasue of the lame way of doing outlines. Whatever program I am going to use needs to be able to read AppleWorks directly.

Any ideas?
